shit, I just realized today how much I'm going to miss these people when I go home. wasn't thinking about it before, wasn't thinking about much of anything really except life and living life, which might be good in some respects but then today we were talking and the tide of conversation turned and I thought, really thought, and. damn.
:(
In happier news, our literary magazine will have a preview copy available tomorrow!
I. am excited beyond words. maybe excited is the wrong word to use. well I did say beyond words, which pretty much expresses it.
Me, Ella, Avery, and Sara have lived in this little room for the past two days. Literally. They were around (with the rest of the class) all Sunday morning content editing, Avery and I joined ~1:30 and things continued into the afternoon (with everyone else eventually leaving so that only the 4 of us were left). Split for dinner, met back at 6:30 to make announcements and clear up some stuff, met again at 8:30 and started working from then nonstop - passed curfew (midnight) and had to go get permission, all 4 of us went on sort of chocolate/exhaustion high and Ella danced around... etc.
Morning, early. Back to classroom, back to work. More work in the evening starting 6:30, I wasn't there because I was watching The Winter's Tale, a great play by the way, I didn't come until past 10 but lovely Sara and Avery were still there, and so joined them and it went nearly past curfew as much as Sunday night. Only Avery left early because she was about to die, and Ella left too only she came back because she lives next to the classroom. Eventually Michael (our teacher) came and kicked us out. --;
Morning. Early. Again! Just me, though. Touch-ups on images, missing images, etc. Fixed stuff for an hour or two during class, some more after class, was almost done but for SENDING and then was too brain-dead to realize that 56000 kB is not the same as 5600 kB or indeed 560 kB which is what I was thinking of it as, and spent lots of fruitless time attempting to send a file obviously too big for email (this is Avery and I repeatedly emailing and emailing and emailing and getting the same error and not pausing to think about what the error might mean). FINALLY! Discovered the file size thing (my brain snapped back into place temporarily) and used YouSendIt.
Now my brain is fried from lack of sleep and too much staring-at-computer-screens and overdosage of caffeine. but oh, the magazine. When it comes out I'm just going to put it on the desk and sit there. And look at it. Dreamily. And look at it some more.
