metaphysics
Jan. 23rd, 2013 11:21 amis SO BORING
if i have to go back into that class for one more day i think i will keel over and die
looking at philos 187-2: friendship, family, & love in chinese & western thinking
The course will focus on conceptions of friendship as well as related notions like family and love in Chinese and Western philosophy and literature. On the Chinese side we will read texts ascribed to Confucius and Zhuangzi, among others, as well as those by contemporary writers. On the Western side we will concern ourselves with writings by Plato and Aristotle, as well as by a number of contemporary authors. Our interest is both in the question how friendship is understood and practiced and in the question of the special moral considerations to which it gives rise.
this seems interesting enough, and metaphysics seems boring enough that i am willing to abandon my lovely 11am-5:30pm (max) schedule to get up at 9 in the mornings and go to this class instead. i'll test it out on thurs and see how it goes.
in other news, i want to roughly plan out my meals for the next week so i know what to get at safeway!! because i'm having trouble using all my food efficiently
today
brunch - yogurt/fruit? egg
dinner - KIMCHI PORK YEE
tmr
breakfast - banana bread
lunch - eggs/potstickers/broccoli
dinner - rice (lots)/fish/broccoli
fri
breakfast - yogurt + more fruit!
lunch - leftovers
dinner - corn soup + leftovers
sat
breakfast - banana bread??
lunch - kimchi fried rice
dinner - kimchi fried rice
OK so i need: kimchi, yogurt, honey (??), bananas, berries, bread, broccoli, and oatmeal for backup because i'm out. oh and maybe i should switch some breakfasts out with oatmeal because i have too much milk. and maybe some granola to dump in the yogurt. :3
OK time to cook eggs and go to safeway i hope they have kimchi~
