So. we're at another hotel, this time out of Hualien in Taitung, which is kinda close by generally speaking, but yes. and there are hot springs here and my mom really wants to go, 'cept we ate first because I'd finally gotten rid of the damned cold (no, actually I still have a cough, but the FEVER's gone) which meant I got my appetite back which meant I'm hella hungry because a side effect of the cold is that it makes me totally not eat anything at ALL and. yeah.

Anyway, now she wants us to wait because the food has to digest first before you take a bath or shower or exercise, and hot springs = bath, and if we go now we'll get digestive problems later (... >>;; waitaminute that's not TRUE is it 'coz if it is... I'm gonna have major problems later on in life...) and well blahblahblah. So we explored around, and then I found this place which has !!! free internet too. With much faster connection, also. And she bid me use the computer for once because of the digestive crap. So here I am. And I had nothing to do really, because wow people post a lot and I haven't had time to read the flist much at all which has been growing at a supreme rate and I have a lot of catching up to do when I get home... so I started a post! And then mom gets bored and says she'll go up and wait for me 'til I'm done (me: wtf I was waiting for YOU...?) so I s'pose I'll finish this post first...

Hrm. Well, we went on another one of these tour things today. This one went from Hualien to Taitung and didn't circle back, since they just dropped us off here. It's not a VERY bad tour, not the type absolutely dripping with tourist traps and crap, esp since it's not tourist season, but they still follow a set route which involves much driving and stopping at certain points that are sometimes interesting and sometimes not, and letting you stay for only a fixed amt of time and you can't stay longer at a place or shorter depending on how it is because it's a generalized tour not for YOU... and most of the places are designed for tourists i.e. tourist traps... but today was better than most. For one, we had only 4 people. And over half of the places we went to weren't completely boring, so though I'm sick of driving so much in the bus, at least it wasn't totally pointless driving.

(Left up to me, I would've stayed in Hualien and sunned myself on the giant field outside the hotel and written in my journal and read and enjoyed the open air and the trees and the mountains and the butterflies (there are SO many @_@) and maybe ate out with my mom going by taxi... maybe visit the nightmarket at night... Eliza remember when we used to spend large amts of time just sitting out on random grass outside Doheny or under the big tree in the middle of Sunken Gardens... just doing... nothing... but anyway my mom would be terribly bored, and this is what comes of travelling with her.)

This place isn't half bad, though, better than expected, so it makes up for it. And the tour places we went to were pretty good. The first two or three stops were boring, to my mind, but the tea place was wonderful, and I took a liking to this tea that's pretty bitter and rather strong at first taste, but it's not bitter once you get used to it, and it leaves this... clean... aftertaste-ish... Iunno, it's refreshing. My mom took a liking to this sweet tea that I don't like. =.= W/e.

We also went on this tour thing where we biked around, and there were also dogs on the way that I stopped to play with... they biked painfully slowly because they explained as we passed the stuff, and it was interesting because we were out in the middle of nowhere in the mountains where seeing any three people at once on a street (more like dirt roads, there) was. well, a lot. lots of farming stuff, tea and crops and plants and pineapples! as well as asian fruitstuffs that are uncommon in america. My mom thought pineapples grew from trees. >>;

Cute dogs with the most traditional names ever - ahuang and xiaobai according to color. So cute! Fed them bits of my chinese dessert-y thing.

Haha now that I've typed this out I'm probably not going to end up writing about it in my journal. I get lazy aft I write things once. I've written way too much in my writing journal to transfer ever. @_@ Well no I could, but I'm never going to have the time. Or I'll have the time months and months from now and I won't feel like transferring then. So if anyone ever wants to read it, they'll have to read the original. It's pretty interesting. I wrote about dreams I had too. One involved Eliza, Kero, and Deb. There was another involving them + a few Paly people but I didn't write it down. Weird, 'coz I don't usually dream of friends. I also had TERRIBLE fever dreams a few days ago, but I didn't record them in detail. Going through them once was bad enough. ><

Notebook's not v. good quality: deteriorating. But well, naught to be done.

Mmk, I bet my mom has fallen asleep by now. I shall return. What is it in the U.S.... 5 AM...? Just about getting first light out...
