chu_totoroListen guys! I was stupid today! I didn't set my alarm and today orchestra was delayed to 8:30 because they were being nice, and I semi-woke up at 7 and could have made it on time! But for some reason I looked out the window and thought "Oh, today must be a Saturday." So I went back to sleep!
...and yes, I was late, and missed the entire 2nd period of orchestra. >< I wasn't actually that late, but since we were late... my mom drove me. And she was like "Well, since I'm here, we might as well go make an appointment at the counselor's office." So we did. And I missed the rest of orchestra.
And naturally I ate no breakfast, because I had no time. So I was very hungry. And unfortunately immediately after 2nd period was tutorial, and I had to go run for Aoki. And I was hungry the whole time, so I decided not to run 3 miles but 2. What's that one stupid little point, anyways?
And then we had 4th period. And today was unbearably hot, so I was very icky and all that, and the teacher laughed at me for using so many tissues. >> And fourth was SO EFFIN' LONG... 90 whole minutes of boredom. And hunger. And... yeah.
After that was lunch. But before I went to lunch I went to the music room. Because, er, I missed orchestra, right? So I figured I should tell Francisco why I was late. Well, Francisco wasn't there. Boitz was. So I told Boitz, and he told me to tell my mom to call in the office so it wouldn't be an unexcused absence. And praised me for telling him. ^^ That made me somewhat happier. And I also bumped into Austin and told him happy birthday (they announce birthdays every morning), which made me feel like I was doing a good deed. And... it was LUNCH. And my mom had kindly grabbed me a bagel before we left today, so I actually had food to eat.
So my spirits improved greatly~ Tiffy heard of my possible transferring to Japanese 3, and she was like "WHAT? I'll be alone!" So she was going to go to Schreiber and ask him for specifics on transferring so she might be able to transfer with me. Not like I'm even sure I'm going to transfer. And... we bumped into Aoki instead! It was rather funny.
We were like "Aoki sensei! We might be transferring into your class!" And she was like "WHAT? I don't want you!" And we told her "Japanese 2 is boring!" And she went "Waitwaitwait let's come in here and talk." So we went in and she started asking us questions! And after a few questions she abruptly switched to Japanese. "Doushite?" (why?) "Tsumaranai yo." (it's boring) "Doushite tsumaranai?" (why is it boring?) "....." (....) "Wakaru?" (do you understand?) "Hai~" (yes~) And Tiff was kind of half-talking to me... "It means why! But I don't know! It's boring because it's boring!" And Aoki sensei was like "Reply in Japanese, please. If you can't do this much, you won't survive in my class."
Heh. Aoki Japanese is much diff. from Schreiber Japanese. She's actually Japanese. Thus, she is completely fluent in the way that we are fluent in English and Chinese but not Spanish. So she speaks much faster than Schreiber. And she was testing us, I'm pretty sure. We didn't understand some of what she said, but we got the gist. We talked about lots of stuff (in Japanese)... Harker, Matsui sensei (;_; I miss her!)... she told us about two guys who are currently Juniors in Jap4 and came from Matsui sensei, and we got onto how much Jap studying we did in Harker, and block scheduling... then:
"Haakaa no ka saratoga no ga suki desuka?" "Saratoga no wa hen desu yo! Haakaa no ga suki~" "Doushite suki janai?" "Nagaaai~" "...kaitekudasai. Ichi peeji. ....kinyoubi wa ii?" "....hai!" "Eh?" "Essee wo kaitekudasai. Wakaru?" "Haiiii..."
(Aoki) "Do you like Harker's or Saratoga's?" (Me) "Saratoga's is weird! I like Harker~" (Aoki) "Why don't you like it?" (Tiff) "It's loooong~ " (Aoki) "...please write it down. One page. ....is Friday good?" (Me) "...sure!" (Tiff) "Eh?" (Aoki) "Write an essay on it. Do you understand?" (Both) "Yes ma'am..."
Well, the actual convo was much longer. But I shortened it to all the important parts. Anyways, we basically have to write an essay on which block schedule we liked better, Harker's or Saratoga's, and why. One page long, due Friday, she'll use it to evaluate our current Japanese skills and see if we're actually good enough to go in her class. So we must write an essay. Joy~
After that I had English! Sutton is crazy. Insane. Eccentric. COMPLETELY NUTS. But that's what makes her classes incessantly fun. No matter what we're doing. ^^ Not sure I got everything exactly right on Odyssey Quiz #3 though.
And period 7. Cochrum is every bit as crazy as Sutton. In a completely different way, though. Anyways, Biology was fun. I'm glad. I never thought I'd find Biology so fun, taking it again, but her classes are actually much more entertaining than Claerbout and Keilty's used to be. So the day ended well.
Of course, that's not the end of the day. Only when I walked to the bike rack did I realize I hadn't biked to school today. >< So I decided to stay and do my English homework! Because I didn't want to walk home with the 3" binder and the Vocab Book and the Grammar Book and Black Boy in my backpack. And I succeeded. I'm done now. Should've finished Japanese hw too, while I was at it.
Then called Eliza and wandered about school talking to her. While wandering, I discovered that around the music room, a number of the orchestra seniors (this includes Juniors) do hang around after school! So the school isn't completely empty. But most frosh and soph are gone, and there's only the few of them, anyways. Of course, there are the people running around... Thomas whooshed past while I was talking to Eliza. Was like... *blinkblinkblink* And then a whole gang of them came running. So the sports people and club people stay. But not really the same.
Headed home walking.... heard about Eliza's interesting dream where Alaska -> Louis -> Del. Then got bored. So we called Deb. Whose phone was off. So then Keropi. But she couldn't talk long because she was on the way to an appointment? Asked her for Mel's phone number. Mel didn't have one. She gave us Kevin's. Called him, didn't work, went through the list of remaining people we could call. Would've called Del except he's constantly busy and probably doesn't need distractions. Then called Mai with the thought of infiltrating her voicemail and yelling "BOO!" (See, this is what happens when you give me a phone and make me walk the full 30 mins home instead of biking. _ _;;) Didn't work. Was going to call Keropi except she'd probably pick up. So Eliza called Kevin again with the same intention. Except he picked up. So we weren't sure what to do and behaved foolishly for a while until I remembered to ask him if Melody was there. But she wasn't. So that ended that. Was going to call more people! But reached home. And typed this up.
(Eh, yeah. So, Mel, if Kevin asks you about some evil ninja friends, that'd be us. _ _;;)
