Today was not a bad day. It wasn't a good day, either, but the morning started out badly and it looked like it would stay that way the entire day and it did, to some extent, but it definitely could've been worse. I was expecting bad luck because I wished all of my luck away last night (I know, I know, I'm too superstitious, but I follow "If you believe in it enough it might work") but the overall day wasn't too terrible.

I've half a mind to go off into a spiel of "maybes" about a person's good luck and bad luck and plain no luck which doesn't necessarily mean bad luck and... well, I decided that I won't. So I'll stop.

Anyways, like I said, the morning started off rather badly. Took people's suggestions to try not to freeze in the morning by closing the windows, and when I awoke it was incredibly stuffy. >< And of course, there was also the weird whatever-I-did-to-my-leg that almost caused me to fall flat on my face when I got out of bed because I wasn't expecting my leg to... like.... collapse, almost. Went to the fridge, found that the housekeeper/cook/nanny person had not left me any food (she packed it all into lunchboxes for mama and ba-ba) and ended up cooking the last packet of ramen (>> Ramen is not for breakfast!) and eating a bagel. Well, now my stock of ramen is gone and I can keep myself off it for at least another month.... I hope I can, at least.

Well, it was early in the morning and I... felt kind of guilty because I've not trans.ed for Selene in a long time. So I translated a bit of AGF (a rather depressing episode) and then left for school.

I went out and back in THREE times.

First, I forgot my cellphone.
Then, I forgot the photo form.
After that, I realized I forgot the water bottle.

So... that was that. >< It was painful running back and forth like that... I've mastered the art of not limping while I walk, but it doesn't make it any less painful (maybe even moreso; it's probably not good for me. oh well). Biking to school was rather irksome as well. The uphills are always annoying, and my right leg couldn't peddle too well. Then, when I arrived, I realized I forgot to bring a lunch.

Saw Jennifer there and talked to her some, then when the bell rang had to go all the way over to m'locker for Jap books and all the way back to the Jap classroom. I was hoping to sit down and take a bit of a break (ehh, I really didn't want my leg to still be funked up by 5th period - P.E.), but no such luck. We did short skits today. My group did mostly improv. It was pretty amusing. And then he did this little quick improv game where two people have lightning-quick random conversation and cram in as much of the vocab as they can use. Except the people he called up to face off with him were all so utterly terrible. He had to prompt them and even then they would take forever and answer with a sentence with one Vocab word (the teacher was throwing in four or five; wherever he could fit them) and kind of stutter and... yeah. It was most frustrating to watch because I could immediately think of so many better things they could've said...

Then we did a kanji writing game. Very boring, as usual. And for hw we have to make flashcards. They don't work for me, dammit! But I have to make them anyways. -.-

Geometry, as usual, was insipidly dull. Went over basics of trig. Sine, cosine, tangent! With a 3-4-5 right triangle! Pah. Finished the worksheets very early, like before, and ended up doodling almost the entire class. I attempted to draw a chibi of my teacher and got a chibi girl (I didn't finish the face), but you can't really tell it's her aside from the clothing. Then I drew a... random face! Yay! Spent the rest of the time working on a normal-sized random Japanese girl with long hair in what was.... half-kimono half-qi-pao because I couldn't remember what a proper kimono looked like. Yeah. Was too lazy to upload them onto the computer and it can stay that way unless someone, for whatever reason, has an indispensable urge to see them.

/Edit: Actually, I've no idea where these sketches went. I think they were lost somewhere in the crowd of lunch. So yeah. If you've an indispensable urge to see them... =P Too bad.

Got some good luck at lunch. It was club day today, so I went around looking at all the clubs and on my second time 'round I found Tiffany! And she figured out that I had no lunch and dragged me around to the clubs with free food (culinary) and stole some food from other clubs without actually signing up. So I actually got some food in my stomach, though mostly chocolates and cookies.

On the third time 'round I decided I'd just sign up for lots of clubs and I mean I didn't have to go to all of their meetings all the time. I can't remember everything I signed up for, but I know I did Go (the chinese game? wei-qi?) Club, Robotics Club, Big Sisters and Brothers Club (I did it only for the candy), Key Club (community service), and Speech and Debate. And some other stuff Tiff signed up for. She absolutely refused to sign up for Sports Club with me, which made me very sad, and I ended up not signing up because it was crowded with guys and I had a hunch I'd be the only girl. Seriously! The "sports club" basically plays Ultimate frisbee and Football during weekends. And I asked the guy and he said we could go only for frisbee and not football... but no, Tiff is busy on the weekends. So am I... but I mean... just signing up can't... yeah. That made me rather angry (at her and myself) but the crowd just kind of pushed on and in my moments of hesitation I never did get to sign up... ><

Then 5th period. The dreaded P.E. And my leg still had not recovered from its funkiness. But I ended up not telling Aoki sensei and ran anyways. She made us run only two laps today, and thankfully the people were slightly more cooperative and we didn't have to run extra. The first half-lap was very painful, but then I started figuring out how to shift my weight onto my left leg more and such (now my left leg is sorer than my right oO) and the second half-lap was slightly better. On the second overall lap I figured out how to properly ignore it so I could run okay, although it probably wasn't very good for me. Yeah.

Naturally, I was much slower, but despite that I still finished ahead of most people oO;; and still lapped some people. I never noticed that so many people start walking after the first lap... never really paid attention before.

Then... frisbee! Aoki sensei talked much before we started, but it was still frisbee! She split us into four-person groups (using our assigned seating - yes, we have seating for when we stretch). I got put with Peter, Jason, and a girl from the opposite end of the room because she was one of the "leftover" people and our group happened to be missing a person. From today's class I learned that Peter is a decent thrower (he can aim! and he can throw in diff. ways! but certainly not so smoothly as... most of the Harker guys. and he could do to throw harder; it was very windy today and light throws went off course easily) and a pretty good catcher. He can catch one-handed with the little Mr. Keilty flourish thing. But for throws that go a ways off, he's not a match against someone who runs and dives like Steven Tran....

Jason is okay. Pretty good, not too bad... average.

The other girl was one of the typical people who can't really throw or catch, leastwise not in our way. It was painful waiting for her to walk aaaall the way over somewhere to slowly pick up the frisbee and all the way back before she threw it.

After that Aoki sensei made us get into groups of 3 and play monkey in the middle. I paired with Jennifer, and Tara got stuck into our group because... we had two people and she was a leftover. Anyways, I got a frisbee and I threw with Jenn long distance, the way we used to. She's actually pretty decent. She can throw pretty far sometimes; she just needs to aim and get more control over the frisbee. Much running about while Tara took her time trudging over. Then we played with me as the monkey, and immediately Jenn became the monkey, and after a while Tara became the monkey whereupon Tara decided she's quitting this stupidity and went off to the side and left me to throw with Jenn.

While running I semi-twisted my ankle; nothing serious, just the type that really hurts for a minute or two and then kind of dwindles down to a dull pain that's bearable, for the most part. At least I'm pretty used to it... It also took my mind off the funky leg, which by the way was getting better... I seem to keep minorly injuring myself like this. Earlier I'd also banged my knee and got an invisible bruise...

Still. For about 5-7 minutes I could not really run as fast as I liked, so could not go after Jenn's off-throws which was very frustrating because I could tell that they were catchable. -.- Oh well. No Ultimate today. Guess she'll introduce it on Thursday.

On a side note, all the minor injuries I've been getting are on my right leg. So now I feel kind of odd. Like... unbalanced. Lopsided, maybe? Because... my left leg is sore. Just sore - running + somewhat leftover splits... Then my right leg is slightly sore but you can't really tell at all, and the ankle + knee + back of leg/thigh part each hurt in their own little way, but it's not really sore. And... yeah. It just feels unbalanced. ==''

Anyways, after frisbee-ing Aoki sensei told us to walk two laps. We had a walking race and first 5 boys to finish + first 5 girls to finish gets extra credit. So we still ended up covering a mile... I walked fast, but could not wholly conquer my ankle and was thus rendered second place (girls) instead of first. The guys totally cheated, skipping and half-jogging and running a bit when the teacher wasn't looking. (Technically that disqualifies you). So they were way ahead. But... yeah. Got the extra credit, anyways.

In Biology we did a lab. Finished almost the entire lab so I'll have it easy tomorrow (we're still doing the same lab tmrw). It also meant we stood up the whole time - no chairs! - which was not at all agreeable with my ankle, but it wasn't too bad. After that went to Boitz to turn in the purple sheet; he told me to go to the office. So I left for the office before thinking to ask him if there was orchestra practice today. .....stupid stupid stupid. At the office I turned in the purple sheet, and I handed her the photo form but she told me to go to the Activities office. So I went there. Waited for a very long time, and when it came my turn the lady said they don't take these forms and we'll have to mail it to the photo company's address. -.- Profound waste of time. And then I had to go all the way back to my locker to deposit some books before I could go back to the Quad and bike away. I did manage to catch Grace walking past and confirmed orchestra practice tonight.

Well, that was my day. What an extremely long post. I felt like writing, but I shouldn't've; I've homework to do. And instruments. And I've not much time. So I'd better get to work.

Hmm... it looks like I've made it a habit to record what happens each day in my LJ. It used to be my diary, but no longer... wow. When I'm old and senile, if LJ still exists and hasn't been overthrown by some other company or whatever, I can reread these and be like "wow it's my life I've forgotten..."

Edit: Since my ankle has not recovered by now, I'm going to make a prediction that it'll get worse and become a problem tomorrow.

Edit: My prediction came true! Go me~ ...and deja vu, this happened in Harker before...

~O, look at me! I'm reading this and doing Statistic hw at the same time! What'cha gonna do 'bout dat?
~Although your day could be worse, it could have been a lot better too! If everyone was truly optimistic, nothing would get done.
~I guess you'll just have to deal with a stuffy/cold room... At least it makes up because there's a dog there. Otherwise it wouldn't be half as stuffy, but you'll get company! Maybe you should leave the door open when you sleep or something...
*Sigh* chibi.....
~I joined go club my freshman year too! Quel coincidence! Although it kinda became "talk as others play go". Robotics club is pretty fun, I have no idea what big Siblings club is, Key club is quite corrupt... Quite corrupt indeed, and Speech and Debate requires a lot of time, but is fun. I think the only clubs I stuck to were umm... math contest and Science olympiad. yay!

~I can't throw a frisbee, even though I took that week course thing on how to throw at CTY... Maybe in college you should play competitive ultimate like Christian.

~Wait... your orchestra is in the evening? is it a school orchestra? I doubt it...

~Well, hope your running muscles heal soon.. don't cause permanent damage... I should go back to STATS hw now... (_ _);;

Hm... you know, that's true. I never looked at optimism that way before.

I didn't join math or science. =P But our clubs are probably diff. than yours....

Mmf. If only everyone lived closer. Then we might be able to play frisbee together... as it is, I don't know if the tag group will ever get fully together to play frisbee ever again... ><

Colleges have that? Maybe I will. It's the only sport I've ever truly cared for.

Yes, this is the school orchestra. We do school periods + practice (with the full orchestra; the orchestra is so big this year they split it into two classes) every Tuesday night from 7-9.
