Scholarship, eh?
Mar. 7th, 2005 08:52 pmHuh. Amy asked ME to help HER on her essay for the scholarship she's trying for. XD I feel so loved. Today is a good day for me... First off, the Japanese Presentation went well. I got rather pissed when I found out that I was the ONLY person doing it on Monday of this week, and in fact no one else will be doing THEIR presentations for another two days (Until Wednesday). The people who were supposed to do it on Tuesday were in the Harker dance production. So naturally they got an extension. But still. I have the pressure off for the rest of the week... Nyahahahahahaha.... Sensei said it was a splendid presentation (though I suspect she would have said something along the same lines for a mediocre presentation) but I felt sure half the time no one knew what I was saying. It's not MY fault sensei changed half the nice English-katakana words to weird Japanese phrases. (E.G. Sheipu shifutin aato (shape shifting art) to bakegaku. Who knows what bakegaku means? Besides me and sensei, of course. But sensei is the one grading it, and I'm pretty sure that was in the A range. XD
The second good thing that happened to me today... well, many good things and bad things happened, but let's just say that the overall school day was good. Unfortunately, I'm going to have problems tomorrow... I have a feeling I didn't study nearly enough for the science test. But oh well. Who wants to study Pubic Lice in depth, you know? STIs just aren't a very appealing topic. What we've been learning about so far isn't quite appealing. Trichomoniasis, if you please. "Symptoms: Frothy green discharge from vagina or penis. Also... etc" that should win an award for most disgusting disease. It's not even like Chlamydia or Gonorrhea with discharge of yellowish fluids (more mucusy). No, it's green. And frothy. WHO WANTS TO KNOW THAT?! But besides science, the day was good overall...
Anyways... I go home, and I totally forget that I have a cello class today. At nine. Until my mom reminds me at around 8 when I become seriously depressed because I was expecting to be able to sleep. Not to get yelled at. And what happens, of course? 15 minutes later my mom reappears clutching the phone and tells me that Ms. Kim is extremely sick. As a result, no class today. YEAH!!!! That, in my opinion, was the best thing that happened to my day today....
Only problem there might have been today was the heat. It's getting hot. I estimated 86 degrees.. yet the car thermo said only 72. And that was probably high, too, since the weather report said maximum 68. Thermometers in cars are generally higher than usual because of the engine. Maybe I'll wear shorts tomorrow...
