and, more school

School seems to be rather dull. Only several things of note.
1. People. Gone. Gone, dammit. Here is Adela on the first day of school:
ADELA: Wheeee I have no first period! *wanders around*
GROUPS OF PEOPLE: *wander past*
ADELA: Hey-
GROUPS OF PEOPLE: *give her sidewise glance*
ADELA: ...... *knows no one*
x 10
Not fun.
Mostly freshmen getting their textbooks, but still, disheartening. Thank god Angela Lau was around to talk to.
2. This is the year. Junior year. Not in the sense that it's terrible and stress-filled, because speaking Adela-wise it's actually the easiest of her years, but- we can now choose classes. And the classes split. Therefore, people who follow the honors/AP line now split off to do their thing, and people who stick to regular go where they will, and basically. Half and half. Will not be seeing half my grade around anymore, and really I've not gotten to know that many of them during required classes, and now I'll know even less. Three cheers and a cookie to me!
3. I have five classes. Five. This means on block days, I have alternatingly two or three periods a day. Two a day on block schedule = three hours of classes. That's all. Feels more like summer vacation than school.
4. All my teachers are awesome, saving one who's only decent and not awesome, but all in all good.
5. I HAD A SCHEDULE CONFLICT. Three in one, therefore, I had to give up two/compromise in some way and choose one, and people, STOP GETTING ON MY CASE ABOUT IT. It's hard enough as it is. And shut up about XC, too, please. >< Though, I might take Track if Japanese works out, I still have to see how that'll go.
People are fine. People are awesome. I've moved in to the new grass area to eat with the now-seniors-still-sophomores-in-my-mind, because I really don't have anything to say to the lunch group from freshmen year anymore, haven't since last year (except Tiffany that is), and as to next year? Don't know, don't care, I would graduate with them if I can but I can't, so life goes on.
Off to do stuff with mom.
edit: poetry hw! Raph seems to insist on writing love poems. We had a discussion last night about his love poems. Sort of. So I wrote a sort-of love poem, except I guess. It really doesn't qualify. But I like it. :D
WHIMS OF LOVE
“I love you,” sulked the dragon, “Why won’t you let me try?”
“You’re a dragon,” said the little girl, “It would never work.”
At that he stretched his leathery wings, pushed off into the sky,
And dove into a black pit full of nameless, filthy murk.
Great lidded eyes blinked out from there, long lashes dripping mud,
“I hate you,” came the plaintive voice, “Just leave me here to rot.”
She shrugged, turned to walk away; the dragon tasted blood,
“R-R-RAUGH!” he shrieked, burst up and out--ate her on the spot.
Bloodlust was slaked, he licked his lips, tilted his golden head,
“Oops,” said he, “What have I done, I’ve slain my one true love!”
Large tears splashed down along his scales, mourning for the dead,
He spent an aeon moping then, and cursed all Gods above.
