chu_totoroSo this morning, we weighed our celloes+cases for Australia.
Sub: (taking roll) And that young lady who just walked in... what's your name?
Us: late again?
Grace: Uh... Grace Chung. *aside* shaddup.
Manoj: How do you manage ALWAYS to be late?
Grace: What, I'm not a morning person, okay!
Manoj: Sure you aren't. I bet you get up early to do something else, like... like...
James: Stalking Kevin Chung?
Grace: ..... *mouth open to an O with this massive look of indignation/shock on her face* ......
Guys: Hahahaha! good one, James.
Grace: ...HOW DO YOU KNOW?!
Class: AHAHAHAHAHAHAH- *keels over* -HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA~
Then we had... impromptu sectionals.
Spent forever trying to get the bowings, and failed because Alvin really doesn't know them? Fourth period isn't even together. We recoordinate at certain breaks/rests and where people will all restart on downbow, but give it a few measures and it'll start to vary...
Someone asked Alvin how about he just go home and get the bowings from his brother and give it to us, since, you know, they LIVE together. (his brother is first stand?) but he would not. He was like "Ummm.... ehhhh...." and then Paulina was like "Do you annoy your brother at home?" and the entire cello section burst out in laughter while Alvin looked a bit pink and went "No... we... just don't talk all that much..."
In the end we didn't get anything done.
Alvin: Okay.
Alvin: So just...
Alvin: Do them in splits, as you see fit. Don't have to follow it exactly.
Us: ... wtf that's what we've been DOING.
Alvin: *abrupt subject change* So just go home and practice! Practice is your homework!
...... wtf. Does his brother terrify him at home or something? It's just some BOWINGS. I shall ask if he does not, when I get the chance. >> Geez. Not that it really, y'know, matters that much, since the cellos are never together anyway and who cares if we look like crap at the pancake breakfast and jab each other and dent the precious instruments? hum.
