A brief recap of Foxy's week--
(why am I calling myself Foxy? well I have been looking at mangastuffs of late and in the manga world I am known as Foxy because I joined BWYS (and all subsequent groups) as Foxfire in 2005 when I first got into said online communities and which, incidentally, is a screenname I stole from my best friend from fifth grade who used it for neopets ha ha ha weren't we lame, and all my fellow editors, translators, QCers and whatnot know me as Foxy and when I associate with online manga I feel like an entity named Foxy so! I am identifying myself as Foxy to-day)
MONDAY
Nothing much. Caught a cold but was in fervent denial as it was still in its early stages.
TUESDAY
Foxy's birthday! HIYAH HIYAH~~~ also known as (you all knew this was coming) the day the music died ^^b
Still sick. In fact more sick than before! booooo.
Got--
a lot of facebook wallposts
a portable tripod
a promise of a puppy (? dunno if that's v. practical)
Thai food w/Connie and Adeeti ♥
a fruit tart*
chocolate
many hugs and well-wishes
a promise of an AP Biology test in the near future (@#!%)
to hear Boitz pick on the flutes
Lost--
wallet
*I never ask for cake on my birthdays, always fruit tart ^^
WEDNESDAY
Sick and miserable! And cranky! Ditched first half of ceramics for the sake of sleep, and went to the second half only to find... NOBODY THERE. Ah, that's right. CAHSEE. Little children dutifully bubbling answers to questions such as
Q: What is 4-1?
A: a) -3 b) 3 c) 5 d) -5
(the answer is b)
and meanwhile missing important classes such as CALCULUS (if they're smart) and missing important lectures which may lead them to not understand their homework and fail future tests and ultimately hurt their grade! What a brilliant idea, this exit exam. (not bitter, not bitter at all, WHY YOU LOOKIN' AT ME~)
Did find brilliant... birthday(?) LLC pizookie... (was in celebration of already-past-yesterday 18th birthday, but instead of celebratory text such as 'happy birthday!' it said 'LLC' with no exclamation point :O found out later that it's because lettering on a pizookie with cream or whatever-it-is can be a difficult task and 'LLC' has 10 less letters than 'happy birthday')
Listened to little children sightread with terrible intonation and nearly had an ear implosion. (Or wait, maybe that was Monday.) Listened to little children play music they already knew and was slightly soothed. Listened to little children play music they already knew (by which I mean have had for a while but is way too difficult for them) and began headache-ing again. hup.
Was asked to babysit little cousins but declined. Little cousins dropped off at house as result. Attempted to bribe cousins with birthday chocolate and Christmas candy canes. Was fairly successful.
Told self to study biology. Drove to aunt's to borrow snowboard and ski clothes instead. Told self to study biology with a hint of menace. Studied ~10 minutes. Gave up and drove to Tiffany's house, dog tagging along because cousins terrified of dogs.
Mad cramming @ Tiff's house. Many grapes eaten. Dogs glared at each other. w00t.
THURSDAY
Woke up and considered going to gov't. Thought more seriously about what we actually do in gov't and went back to sleep.
Woke up again and practised instruments, studied Bio (while simultaneously walking dog - i.e. walking across the grass of that giant field in that park so the dog will come chasing while noticing that the grass seemed to be covered with green food coloring), ate good home food, generally was much more productive than ever would have been in gov't.
Drove to school. Took Bio test. Undoubtedly failed, but will hopefully ace after generous curve. Discussed bizarre scenarios inPhilosophy AP Lang such as whether or not to shoot an innocent man if doing so will supposedly save many innocent others.
Decided that wallet was definitively gone. Ironically sister's birthday present - wallet (cleverly disguised as emo wristband) - arrived (actually it had already arrived on Tuesday), but was unable to see the humour in the situation.
Drove to Thai place in pursuit of wallet only to discover they were closed. Damn Thai restaurants. Called them later in the evening. Asian man with super heavy Asian accent answered. Meant well, but was absolutely no help at all. Damn Thai people.
FRIDAY
Did not wake up nor consider going to ceramics. Did decide, after much debating, to go to orchestra, as home was empty and boring. Coincidence happens here.
FOXY: /pulls into school lot
PARKING SPACES: /all taken
FOXY: dammit! /pulls into side lot
PARKING SPACES: /all taken except one, because it's labelled 'Theatre Manager Only', but Foxy doesn't care
NEARBY STUDENT: /watches as Foxy pulls illegally into space
FOXY: asldkjf;la a witness. Didn't class start 10 minutes ago? What's he doing out here? Ah well, he's getting something from his trunk, so 'course he won't be paying attention to little ol' me...
(FOXY attempts to leave casually)
STUDENT: Adela!
FOXY: /twitch
STUDENT: I have your wallet!
FOXY: That's great! UM-all-the-other-spaces-were-filled-the-theatre-manager's-not-using-the-PAL-today-anyway-so-you-know... wait, what?
STUDENT: I found it in the parking lot.
FOXY: Oh. Thanks.
STUDENT: /walks off
FOXY: ... ... ...
So that's how Foxy got her wallet back. All the cards and photos and whatnot had been taken out of it and tied to it separately with a little rubber band.
Life is bizarre sometimes, don't you think?
Rest of the day! Had good korean food (mmmmmm) albeit sick. Made friend half an hour late to class (whoops) (he said it was OK beforehand though!) and attempted to practise piano, but said friend apparently got unexcused absence anyway and decided to ditch the rest of the period, so spent time chatting w/him instead.
Decent piano lesson. Decent orchestra practise. Must state here that I hate the Mozart Violin Concerto. D: Like Brahms though. And Tchaik (Rococo Variations ♥) although didn't rehearse which is strange because soloist can't come to next two rehearsals so what are we going to do??? Maybe Curtis can substitute.
Had short conversation about prom on way home (or more like to car). Did not mention that fanime tickets were already in possession and also that prom was of secondary concern. Thought it proper to go to fanime at least once, you know, since will leave at least the immediate vicinity for college and all. (k yes, should technically go to prom at least once as well, barring the fact that there really is only one prom anyway, but there is exactly one person I like at my school who probably will not ask and even if he does, it's not like fanime is one-day only sooo moot point)
SATURDAY
Slept in. Less sick. Maybe finding wallet cured source of sickness? hmmmmmmm.
Brought Saint-Saens third mvt to cello teacher instead of Eccles, because not fond of Eccles. Cello teacher v. shocked. Also v. pleased. Was in turned v. pleased for pleasing teacher. Was not as pleased during informal group lesson, thanks to mistakes, but everyone had them so it's OK.
Lalo Cello Concerto not the same as I remember. At least, listened for very many measures and realised my favourite part consisted of about 5 measures halfway through the piece. Ah well.
Went home, spent much time idling on computer and reading Robin Hobb, then practised Beethoven's Tempest on piano.
SUNDAY
Slept in again. Much less sick!
Was hoping piano recital'd be short. Turned out ridiculously long. 16 people//2 hours. Was also second-to-last. Blah. Fingers all softened by the time they got to me. Not fun.
Am hungry. Will stop now and go eat~
