There is a spider living in my bathtub.
It's a daddy long-legs, so it's not too bad (no thick hairy legs), and it lives in the back of the long end of the tub. I shower in the front end of the long end of the tub, and so we manage a sort of peaceful coexistence.
What puzzles me is why it chooses to live there. It's been there for 3 days, ever since I got home from Japan. At first I thought it was just a fluke, a mistake that would be gone the next day. But I just showered half an hour ago, and sure enough, there it was, a little black dot making its invisible way through the air, wobbling its way to the bathtub wall.
Making its invisible way through the air.
That's right, it's got a whole nest set up in our tub. At least two to three strands of sticky spiderweb sticking somewhere to our gleaming white nonstick bathtub wall.
What do you eat, little spider? Do flies curve their way down to the ground, make their way through our vent, then make a big U in the air in order to fly into your little den down by the ground? Do you have another web all strung up outside, your kitchen, and use the tub only for sleeping in?
I'm still terrified of spiders, by the way. If one day my shower water goes too far and splashes you off your web, and you start flowing my way, ain't a soul in the world gonna save you, little buddy. I will scream and jump out of the tub and probably spray you harder, with more shower water, so you go down the drain faster. Maybe you should consider moving.
