Well. Finished To Say Nothing of the Dog, mostly while I was at the dentist's office. Ideas of time travel, and such.

I guessed all the major plot points correctly by the middle of the book, &all in all it was a bit too predictable for my taste-- the ending was far too explanatory.

The ending, how the incongruity in the time-travel nets turned out not to be an incongruity because actually it was the net going into the past to fix itself, in order to fix an incongruity that occurred in the future, but then that incongruity not being the real incongruity either, that was part of something that was fixing something that was fixing something in the faaaaar future...

... rather reminded me of The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, one of the last books... Mostly Harmless, I think. Or was it So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish? Where the final Guide II, the one that came packaged in the form of the Bird that brinked on all space-time at once, conscious of the entire world at the same time... and supposedly obeyed your every command and would do anything/bring you anything you asked for, but actually would desert you once it has used you to achieve some purpose because you were just a tool it used to serve a tool to serve a tool to serve a tool to serve a tool to serve a tool to serve some purpose way in the future, to the absolute LAST person who ever had it or used it or commanded it, whoever that might be...

Bit complicated, no? What happens when you mess with space-time. _ _;; But all that was minor spicing... the ending was rather cheesy. Not really a book I'd recommend. Makes a decent read, though.

The whole lower right region of my jaw is still numb from anaesthetics. >> was this really necessary for a minor filling? Ohwell...
