How'd I end up talking about my dad?
Feb. 26th, 2005 06:20 pmSine, cosine, tangent... Aggghhh... It's not that bad, actually, but I'm sick of doing math homework. I think I'll leave the last few questions blank... My grades seem to balance out weirdly. My math was slacking while I got top-subject in Japanese, so I did a little bit of work in math and got 100 on the next quiz. Yet my Japanese Test grade dropped to a 94. I know, I know. People keep telling me, "That's HIGH! Don't complain!" But it's hard not to feel a little disgruntled when you usually get over 100%, no? Oh well. I spent a lot of time on my essay so that ought to even it out, but I can't help wondering if that 94 will cause me to lose top-subject (indeed, I think I had lost it already... I gained it before only because sensei was nice enough to overlook the lateness of my essay which SHOULD have dropped my grade below Pauline's...), but that doesn't matter THAT much. I'll get an award anyways. It just won't have the little golden star thingy that looks way too cheapy. Harker's awards ALL look terrible, in fact. People only like them because "it's the thought that counts." It means you deserved it. But honestly, they could make it look better.
Gee, I didn't mean it that way, but now that I look this over (I just left for a while and came back), it sounds like the fox and sour grapes. -.- Oh well. But Harker awards ARE ugly. I had this discussion with my friends before. Actually, it was more like talking amongst ourselves about how high our tuition is, and then mentioning this as a thing that could be improved on. And I highly doubt this will cost them too much more money. *shrug* But Harker is being stupid. Next year I'm not going to Harker because of the tuition, and I think that plays a part in a lot of other students' decision to leave Harker. They're losing students! Of course, they'll gain them back all right, but whatever. Rich people. *mutter mutter*
Some people say, "YOU go to Harker, YOU should be one of the rich people you're muttering at, so why are you muttering about yourself?" But I'm not! We might have been all right BEFORE we paid the tuition this year, but once we've paid it... we're poor. Unlike certain students who live in gigantic mansions... The China people who have seen Sean D.'s house should know what I'm talking about. And even Tiff's house is huge... but I'm glad she's moving to Saratoga. But think about it. Her parents have enough money to BUY a house here, tear it down, completely rebuild it into something if not as large as their current house, large enough to outshine houses in my neighborhood and maybe Kerwin Ranch's (the rich people street) houses. That takes some money... MY family would not be able to do that. Of course, we already live in Saratoga so we don't need to. But yeah. Maybe it's because Dad's handicapped. He's kind of a drag, I'll bet. He can't do much so he spends all day (he's a genius, by the way... I guess that evens out his disabilities a little) figuring out stuff on the computer (used to be an engineer) and pirating as much stuff as possible from BT and then burning them onto CDs, so we have large unofficial collections of movies we can watch without paying a thing (except the electricity bill). But that's just entertainment... oh whatever. I think I'm thinking too much about thinking too much about thinking.. this could go on forever. A paradox. Fffft...
