Are people who are happy within a bubble truly happy?

I dunno. If they think they are, then it shouldn't matter, should it? The thing is to not pop the bubble so that they see that they're in a bubble and become unhappy, esp. if they're probably not going to be so happy outside of their bubble.

But then, I don't know.

I know people who are, let's say, not very pleasant. Obnoxious, maybe. You know, there's always someone who'd be all, for example,

STUDENTS: /distracts teacher with random questions
PERSON: (huff) Am I the only one who wants to learn anything here?

OK, that's not too bad. But it's just the way, you know, if something happens to be wrong or we can't quite see the board, you can bet that kid's always going to be,

PERSON: (loudly) Teacher! Problem #3 on the board is off the screen, we can't see it!
TEACHER: Oh, all right. /moves the projector
PERSON: /preens

And if you joke about the person,

PERSON: Excuse me, I don't appreciate this at all so would you please stop!!!

i.e. no sense of humor =/

I mean, when random guys in the back are chit-chatting etc person might stick up their nose to them and, lessay in general, she's just sort of obnoxious and it depresses me because, RELAX man! Your life'd be so much happier that way…

Yet of course, I'd never say it. Because I can envision,

PERSON: Well excuse me I'm perfectly happy the way I am! /glare

I do think this person in particular reaps a certain enjoyment from being obnoxious. But is enjoyment of that kind synonymous to happiness?

All of us know people who love to wallow in self-pity. Are they happy?

Most everyone, at some point, I think, has been the little kid who's absolutely miserable over something but when people suggest ways out of the misery, absolutely refuse to take it because the inner kid just wants to complain and whine and not really solve anything. Except complaining and whining doesn't make you happy, the more you complain the more you begin to believe it and the more miserable you feel. So how does that work? ._____. no idea. but I used to do it allllllll the time…

and this isn't really about people in bubbles anymore.

more like discussing the nature of different kinds of happiness.

which is more fitting, anyway, since I never bothered to define bubble and everyone in the world lives in a bubble to some extent. ;;
