San Francisco

We have returned.

They actually called in for me a full DAY off, so I don't have to go to school if I don't want to, but I have Sutton English today and it's just not a good idea to skip Sutton's classes. So I'll go to sixth... but that's not 'til 2:20 or so so I have a bit of down time right now.

If I go to sixth that means I have to go to Track. >_< Sigh.... oh well.

Today I finally realized. yesterday while playing I just suddenly had a faint inkling of revelation like "heyyyy" and then today I confirmed it and wondered that I didn't realize it before. The Advanced Orchestra DID play the Holberg Suite before, didn't they? My mom confirms it. And I distinctly remember... just, I don't think I paid too much attention at the time so I didn't really notice until now.

Wut, and we OWNED them in our concert. Mom agrees too. XD And! We only had two weeks to get it ready. and 5 other pieces on top of that, although granted several of them were really easy pops music (America the Beautiful, What a Wonderful World... etc). But, Iono. Everyone in Intermed has this notion that Adv. Orch is uber difficult and they play hard music and such, and Holberg is easier than Mars and Jupiter. oO;; And I actually play it, y'know, without cheating or faking at all, unlike school music... (I can't cheat, actually, since I moved up a stand and joined Grace as the first stand in the 2nd row so it'd be really obvious if we faked...)

So HAH. Hmph. I wish Boitz did let me audition. Oh well. School orch seems unimportant now, for some reason. With Boitz getting ready to leave and all that. I don't feel motivated to join Adv. anymore. They didn't even bother to give us Intermeds the seating audition again, so I'm still stuck in the back. With Michael and Justin. =.= I find myself tending to cut/want to cut orch more and more... if Boitz leaves I'll probably end up quitting. And eventually, knowing her, Mrs. Kim will force me to join SJYS, CYS, or ECYS...

Bah. Should get ready for school now. I can take my time though, since it doesn't matter if I'm late to the period... I can just stroll in and hand in my PERFECTLY LEGITIMATE pass to Ms. Sutton. =^^= *happy* Although. Now I have to get Jap and Geom and PreCalc hw and I didn't have time today to do Geom. work during PreCalc or lunch, see, so that'll be a pain... I'll have to carry the textbooks HOME. which is a big pain in the ass. but it can't be helped. >> Sigh...

Edit: O.M.F.G. THE PAIN. THE PAAAAAAAIN~

Okay. So we ran the half-mile warm-up, right. Then did all the conditioning crap on the grass. And four 400 m perparation sprints. Charity came back today. She was out because of compound cold + poison oak-ness. She showed me scary welts on her leg and arms. At least she didn't get these giant blisters some do. Right. And Ashley was out because her cold from Friday, apparently it's more than a cold and her doctor's forbid her from running until at LEAST Thursday. Lisa fell down the stairs a lot and popped her knee or something, which was v. painful, and she was complaining throughout conditioning 'til I made her tell the coach and then she went to the trainer and they told her to sit out. So all in all it was pretty dismal. And we ran RELAYS. Two person per mile, switch off every quarter mile, do it twice, and we've each run a mile. And it was sprints. And Charity was v. slow because of her... infirmity, so I had to run faster to try and make up for it. x.o we were last the first time, because Charity ran the last lap, but the second mile I ended it and managed to pass a few v. slow people, and I dunno how they managed to let me pass 'coz they had more than a half lap's head start, but w/e.

We also did 3 people per mile, switch off every eighth of a mile, hence a half-lap? Except. OMFG gah I got my period on Thurs/Fri, right, so it was just kind of a dull pain and on our long runs I would slow down more and such, but JESUS today I got the real cramps. Not like kind of ache-y pain-ish, I got the effin' cramps FULL ON and I was like AAAAAAAHH x.x And the relays made it worse because I would run a lap, wait for Charity, run another lap, stop, run, wait, run, wait... instead of just steadily running a mile, so it would be sprinting. Every lap. And I had to sprint really fast, right, because poor Charity with her poison oak >< brings us to dead last, so each time I'd have to pass a few people to make up for it. So like the first lap was okay. Not worse than a normal sprint. And then the second lap the cramps hit me FULL ON. OWOWOWOWOW >_< I can still run fast with them, btw, but running, esp sprinting like. it feels like my insides are literally churning over. And then! We can't just run a nice paced out endurance mile run, we have to do the stupid relay. So I would reach the end, drop and clutch my sides and try to stay immobile and catch my breath while Charity comes, and then the churning would subside some, and I WOULD catch my breath and get a bit better just when Charity reaches me and off I go again and each time I have to sprint faster than before and it all starts churning again and IT'S DEATHLY PAIN I TELL YOU and it churns just a little worse every time and it's just. AAAAAAAAAAGH WHYTF DO I HAVE TO SUFFER THIS RAWR~~~

I had to drop out after the first 3-person mile relay. I. could not. run. rather, I could, but I would've ended up KILLING myself if I kept going.

AND ARGH it still hurts now and the cramps aren't STOPPING where is my chocolate omfg where has all the chocolate in the house gone waaaaah~

Although, as consolation, my new shoes are wonderful. :) I can run v. fast with them on, and it makes me happy. Even through cramps. ... I have an ability to separate pain of injury and running into two separate things, except they're still connected so I can *make* myself run fast under pain without much trouble but the only thing is it'll end up being v. v. bad for me.

But yes. I LOVE MY SHOES. I'm certain I can break a 7-minute mile now. You know, I'd worn the black all the way down to the white on my old shoes and almost down to the black again, and never noticed. oO;; I need new casual shoes now. _ _;;

I have also achieved a somewhat respected status amongst the runner peoples, since many fail/cannot look down upon me as a newbie freshie when I run faster than them. :D And I don't act like a freshmen, so they don't know. XP Of course, people in track are generally nice to others, no matter what. But you can kind of feel a lack of respect, despite the niceness, to the slower people... Iunno. GAH OKAY I go off on chocolate hunt now. ><

Edit: Also, on a random note, IMed the 3 adv orch people who are on to ask about Holberg, but two are away/idle and the remaining one doesn't KNOW. =.= Oh well.

Edit: Found the last chocolate orange hidden in parents' room, stole it without remorse, and ripped off two pieces. Saved me during cello lesson (which I had completely forgotten about, btw). ^^;; Also, it WAS Holberg! Nyahaha~
