it's midterm season!

Dear Livejournal,

My friends are seasonal. For the first time since Italy, I'm seeing all English updates on Facebook! Wowee.

Japanese research proving very fun. As is the Writer's Salon. And my new dog. :)

The dog has made me think about a lot of things. I've heard it so many times, since two months ago when I return to school, and even now I still hear it every time I meet someone new.

"Computer Science? That's a good choice."

And the glimmer of awe. You've got it made, their eyes say.

Some days I just want to take them by the shoulders and shake them. I'm not here for that, I want to say. I'm here because I love to code. And don't say to me, "I wish I had done that." Because I'm not here for that. I don't want to work for a computer company, I don't want to get a job at a nice reputable place like Google or Facebook or Twitter, and I don't ever see myself going in to work and just programming all day.

Everyone in college should get a dog. (:
